STATEMENT POLICY REVIEW

The submitted manuscript will undergo peer review. Peer review is the process in which the journal assesses the quality of the manuscript before publication, reviewed by relevant experts in the field to evaluate and comment on the accepted manuscript. This process aims to assist the editor in determining whether a manuscript should be published, revised, or rejected. The Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance only publishes articles that have been reviewed in the OJS system or outside the system and approved. We use a double-blind peer review process, meaning that reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other.

Reviewers assess the manuscript from the aspects of writing quality and substance (not text grammar), including freshness, originality, usefulness, and the validity of citations and references. Furthermore, reviewers do not make decisions to accept or reject articles but provide decision recommendations. In the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance, the authority for decision-making rests entirely with the journal's editor-in-chief, executive editor, or editorial board.

Review Process:

  1. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are initially screened by the editorial team. The editor evaluates the journal's focus and scope and additional data. If they do not meet the criteria, the manuscript will be rejected;
  2. The manuscript is first checked for similarity by members of the editorial team. It is rejected if significant plagiarism is found. Authors are contacted if minor redundancy or plagiarism is found for clarification. If no improvements are made by the authors, the manuscript will be rejected;
  3. The editor sends manuscripts that pass the initial screening to at least one peer reviewer for review;
  4. Peer reviewers return their review forms to the editor with recommendations to the journal editor on whether the manuscript should be accepted or rejected (with revision notes if necessary);
  5. The journal editor considers all feedback from peer reviewers and makes a decision to accept, require major revisions, require minor revisions, or reject the manuscript;
  6. The editor sends a decision email to the author for confirmation. If accepted, the manuscript is sent for production. If revisions are required, authors are instructed to make revisions and promptly return them to the editor via the OJS system or email. The editorial team will review revisions to ensure necessary updates are made before publication. Entries returned after more than one month are considered as new submissions;
