PUBLICATION ETHICS

Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance, published twice a year in print and online by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Datokrama Palu, issues this statement to elucidate the ethical behavior expected from all parties involved in the publication of articles in the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance, including authors, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Publication Ethics Guidelines
The publication of articles in the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance is a scholarly knowledge dissemination process in the field of Sharia economics and Islamic business studies. It is a direct reflection of the quality of work by authors and the institutions that support them. The reviewed articles support and incorporate scientific methodology. Therefore, it is crucial to adhere to ethical standards expected of all parties involved in publication, namely: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the community.
The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Datokrama Palu, as the publisher of the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance, is responsible for earnestly overseeing all stages of publication and acknowledges ethical responsibilities and other obligations. The institution is committed to facilitating communication with journal managers and/or other publishers if deemed useful and necessary.

Publication Decisions
Editors of the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published. The validation of the work and its significance to researchers and readers should always guide this decision. Editors may be guided by the journal's editorial policies and are constrained by legal provisions concerning defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism that must be upheld. Editors may consult with other editors or the review team in making this decision.

Fair Treatment
Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual content, without discrimination on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the authors, expert reviewers, and the publisher.

Notification and Conflict of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor's research without clear written consent from the author.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with the author, may also assist authors in improving their papers.

Promptness
Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.

Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Objectivity Standards
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not acceptable. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call the editor's attention to any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge. 

Notification and Conflict of Interest
Information or opinions obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the paper.

Author's Obligations

Article Standards
Authors should present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance. Essential data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if they have used the work and/or words of others, it must be cited appropriately.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications
An author generally should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is considered unethical and unacceptable. The Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance editor has the right to retract, withdraw, and cancel publications that are suspected of being duplicate/redundant publications.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the work reported.

Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study being reported. All those who have made substantial contributions should be listed as co-authors. If there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors who are appropriate and have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Errors in Published Works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the editor or journal publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
