AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Author Guidelines are intended as a reference for authors when preparing manuscripts to be submitted to the editorial team. They also serve as a guide for editors and reviewers when evaluating the manuscripts. Academics, researchers, and practitioners intending to submit their manuscripts to the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance are expected to adhere to these guidelines and the journal's template.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION

  1. Submitted articles must be original and have not been previously published or submitted to other journals.
  2. All content in the manuscript must be original and free from plagiarism, falsification, or material manipulation. Any form of plagiarism is not the responsibility of the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance's publisher.
  3. Adhere to the writing guidelines, template, and publication ethics of the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance.
  4. The discussion should be prominent in the article, and the criteria for scholarly writing should include: (a) Objectivity: based on factual conditions; (b) Up to date: the article reflects the latest developments in knowledge; (c) Rationality: the article can serve as a platform for constructive criticism; (d) Impartiality: it should not be overly demanding, honest, straightforward, and not motivated by personal interests; (e) Effective and Efficient: the article should be a highly engaging communication medium, with accurate research methods and compliance with the writing guidelines of the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance.
  5. The article title should be engaging, novel, clear, and provide information related to the article, with a maximum of 15 words, using Bookman Old Style font size 14 pt.
  6. The article must be written in English with correct grammar.
  7. The article should include the authors' names (without academic titles) in Bookman Old Style font size 12pt, affiliations, and correspondence information in Bookman Old Style font size 10pt. Include complete author bios with postal addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers at the time of submission via OJS (Online Journal System).
  8. The article should include 5 keywords.
  9. The article should be presented in several sections, including: (a) Introduction; (b) Method; (c) Results and Discussion; (d) Conclusion; (e) References.
  10. Authors who wish to submit their articles should use the OJS (Online Journal System). 

ARTICLE PREPARATION

The submission of manuscripts to the OJS (Online Journal System) of the Journal of Community Service: In Economic, Business, and Islamic Finance can be done in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF (.doc/.docx or .rtf) formats, with the following specifications:

  1. The manuscript must be written in proper English.
  2. The paper size should be A4 (210 x 297 mm) with margins of 3.17 cm on the right and 2.54 cm on the top, bottom, and left.
  3. Generally, each paragraph should be written in Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, with single spacing (1), 0 pt before and after spacing.
  4. The Manuscript Title should be written in Bookman Old Style font, size 14 pt, in bold, and in all capital letters with single spacing and left alignment (Align Left).
  5. Titles of tables/content of tables, figures/diagrams/graphs/charts/sketches should be written in left-aligned font, size 12pt, with single spacing. The alignment used should be centered.
  6. The References should be written in Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, with single spacing and justified alignment (Justify).
  7. The first line of each paragraph should begin 1 cm (First Line 1.25 cm) from the left margin. The alignment used should be justified.

WRITING STRUCTURE

This article is structured as follows:

  1. The title should be as concise as possible and reflect the overall content of the article in no more than 15 words. It may use common abbreviations. The title should be written in Bookman Old Style font, size 14pt, in bold, and in all capital letters with single spacing and left alignment (align left).
  2. Author Names. Author names should be written in full without titles or abbreviations. Use the authors' real names without any abbreviations. Author names should be written in Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, with left alignment (align left).
  3. Author Affiliations. The affiliations of the authors, including the institution where the authors work or study, should be mentioned. Only the affiliations with universities or institutions should be included in the text. Author affiliations should be written in Bookman Old Style font, size 10pt, with left alignment (align left).
  4. Correspondence Address using the author's email address. The email address should be written in Bookman Old Style font, size 10pt, with left alignment (align left).
  5. The abstract should be written in English and should not contain formulas or references. It should cover the purpose of the community service program, methods, findings, and conclusions. It is also recommended to highlight the research problem in the first paragraph as an introduction. The abstract should be in regular font, with a length of 150-200 words. The content of the abstract should adhere to the Format and Writing Systematic guidelines. Meanwhile, the title "Abstract" should be written in capital letters, Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, and left alignment (align left).
  6. Each abstract should include Keywords, consisting of 5 words (no less and no more). Keywords should contain the most important words in the article. Keywords should avoid generic terms and plural terms. Keywords should not exceed 5 words or phrases in alphabetical order. The font used is Bookman Old Style, size 10pt, and the alignment is left (align left).
  7. The introduction should include the background, gap analysis, and the objectives of the community service. The background can be derived from current issues affecting a specific group of people or a particular community or observations made in the field. These issues should not have been extensively studied by the authors before, thus creating a gap that requires a solution through research-based community service. The introduction should also include a review of the relevant literature (state of the art) as the basis for stating the scientific novelty of the community service article written. The word "Introduction" should be written in capital letters, in bold, Book Antiqua font, size 12pt, with single spacing, and justified alignment (justify). If the text is in English, use "Introduction."
  8. This section describes the methods used to solve (reduce) the problem and also the methods used to analyze the effectiveness or success of the program. The steps of the method used can also be explained in the form of a chart or flowchart. The methods used should have a strong theoretical basis to justify their scientific aspects. The word "Method" should be written in capital letters, in bold, Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, with single spacing, and justified alignment (justify).
  9. Results and Discussion. Describe theories related to the research. To enhance the quality of articles, authors are advised to use the results of literature reviews to support arguments, both in the introduction (the need for research to be carried out) and in the discussion (comparison with the findings of previous studies/existing theories) from relevant journals, making up 80% of the entire list of references used. The content of the results and discussion includes statements, tables, figures, diagrams, graphs, sketches, and so on. The words "Results and Discussion" should be written in capital letters, in bold, Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, with single spacing, and justified alignment (justify).
  10. The conclusion is a summary of the research conducted and should not repeat the discussion results. In this section, the author must state the conclusions, limitations, and recommendations. The word "Conclusion" should be written in capital letters, in bold, Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, with single spacing, and justified alignment (justify).
  11. The References (bibliography) are the reference sources used in the article. The number of reference sources used should consist of 80% journals. Each reference should be accompanied by information referring to the bibliography, which should be primary, recent, and relevant. Reference sources (not bibliographies) should, as much as possible, be from the last 10 years and prioritize primary sources, such as books and articles in scientific journals or magazines. The word "References" should be written in capital letters, in bold, Bookman Old Style font, size 12pt, with single spacing, and justified alignment (justify).
  12. All references should use the APA 7th Edition style and include a DOI link for journals. Authors are required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or others.
