Author Guidelines
The Manuscripts
The manuscript should be an original research paper that sufficiently contributes novelty in the fields of Guidance and Counseling, Religious Counseling, Educational Psychology, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling Media, Multicultural Counseling, Information Technology in Counseling, Family Guidance, General Education, or Mental Health.
Authors are required to submit their manuscripts electronically through the online submission system of Nosipakabelo: Jurnal Konseling dan Bimbingan Keislaman. The corresponding author must provide a declaration that the manuscript has not been published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submissions that do not follow these procedures will not be processed by the Editorial Team.
Structure of the Manuscripts
- Title. The title must be concise, informative, and not exceed 25 words.
- Author’s Names and Institutions. Each author’s name should be accompanied by their institutional affiliation and email address, without any academic title. One author must be designated as the corresponding author.
- Abstract and Keywords. The abstract should be 150–250 words, written in both English and Indonesian, and summarize the objectives, methods, results, and implications. Keywords (3–5 words or phrases) should accurately represent the main topics discussed in the paper.
- Introduction. This section explains the background of the study, relevant literature review, research gap, and the purpose of the study. It should also clearly state the significance and novelty of the research.
- Methods. This section describes the research design, participants or subjects, data collection procedures, instruments, and methods of analysis used.
- Results and Discussion. This section presents the findings of the study clearly and logically, accompanied by interpretation and comparison with previous studies. Authors should highlight the theoretical and practical implications of their findings.
- Conclusion. This section provides a concise summary of the results, conclusions, and recommendations or implications for practice and further research.
- References. This section lists only the works cited in the manuscript, following APA Style 7th Edition.
General Writing Format
- The manuscript must be written on A4-size paper, single-sided, 1.5 line spacing, using Times New Roman, font size 11.
- Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English.
- The manuscript length is between 10–15 pages (approximately 4000–7000 words).
- Margins: top 3 cm, bottom 3 cm, left 3 cm, right 3 cm.
- Paragraph indentation: 1.25 cm from the left margin.
- The title should use capital letters only for the first word and proper nouns, font size 12, centered.
- Subtitles are written in uppercase, bold, size 12, aligned to the left.
- Sub-subtitles (if any) use sentence case (capitalize first word only) and italics.
- At least 80% of references should be from the last 10 years, except for classic or key sources. Use of textbooks should not exceed 20%.
Specific Writing Format
- Equations or formulas, if used, should be numbered as (1), (2), etc., aligned to the right.
- Statistical results or data analysis should be presented in summary tables rather than raw output from software.
Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals.
- The title of a table is placed above the table, while the title of a figure is placed below it.
- Each table or figure must include the source (if applicable) below it.
- Tables should contain horizontal lines only, without vertical lines.
Acknowledgment
Acknowledgments, if any, should be placed as a footnote on the first page or before the reference section, mentioning individuals or institutions that supported the research.
Subjects and Authors Index
Authors are encouraged to provide keywords or terms that can be used to create a subject index. Additionally, the list of cited authors can serve as a reference for creating an author index, with surnames written first followed by given names.
Citation
In-text citations must follow the APA 7th Edition format, for example:
- Fajaruddin (2020) stated that counseling effectiveness depends on client readiness.
- The counseling process is influenced by the counselor’s empathy (Hudha, 2017, p. 5).
- Effective school-based guidance requires collaboration (Andi, 2018, pp. 5–6; Laksana, 2019).
Authors are strongly encouraged to use Mendeley or Zotero as reference management tools.
References
The manuscript should include 15–25 up-to-date primary references from reputable journals, books, or proceedings to ensure scholarly quality. Citations and references must strictly follow APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition style.

How to Submit the Manuscript
- Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx) via the Online Submission system on the journal website.
- During submission, authors must fill out their full name, academic title, institution, phone number, and active email in the online registration form.
Final Decision
Based on the peer review process, the editorial decision will be communicated to the corresponding author through the OJS system with one of the following outcomes:
- Accepted without revision,
- Accepted with minor revision,
- Accepted with major revision, or
- Rejected.
