This study aims to identify forms of spiritual expression, explain the process of value internalization, and analyze the transformation of symbolic meanings in contemporary Reog practices. The research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological-interpretative approach through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. The analysis was based on Sufism theory, particularly the concepts of ihsan, dhikr, and self-control as the foundation of spiritual praxis. The findings reveal that spirituality in Reog has shifted from a mystical orientation toward an ethical-religious consciousness reflected in practices of prayer, discipline, and social relations. The practice of dhikr before performances represents a form of living Sufism embedded in local culture, while the figure of the Warok is interpreted as a symbol of moral authority and self-control. These findings affirm the reinterpretation of sacredness in harmony with the principles of tawhid and religious moderation.
2026-05-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Zalika Dwi Ayunda, Hasyimsyah Nasutionhttps://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/rsy/article/view/5204RECONSTRUCTING AL-KINDI’S EPISTEMOLOGY FOR GENERATIVE AI KNOWLEDGE VALIDATION2026-06-11T08:49:14+00:00Farhan Firdianfarhanfirdianafi@uinsuku.ac.idUmi Ni’matin Choiriyahumichoir@uinsuku.ac.id
One of the phenomena with a profound epistemic impact in the digital era is the emergence of generative AI. This phenomenon of generative AI is not merely used as a supportive tool; rather, it has become a new source of authority capable of replacing traditional authorities. Amidst the post-truth phenomenon and the proliferation of disinformation, the validity of knowledge produced by generative AI is still being used as a reference for truth claims. Essentially, the validity of generative AI is contingent and requires prior human verification before such knowledge can be widely consumed. This phenomenon raises epistemological concerns regarding how Islam philosophically responds to the issue of generative AI. This study offers Al-Kindi's integrative epistemology to analyze the phenomenon of generative AI in the contemporary era. Al-Kindi's thought is considered capable of reconstructing and synthesizing three sources of knowledge: reason (rationality), sense perception (empiricism), and revelation (transcendental or ethical) as an ethical and epistemic guide to formulate the criteria for validating generative AI knowledge. The method used in this study is a philosophical-analytical library research with a qualitative approach. The contribution of this article is establishing Al-Kindi's integrative epistemology as a framework for validating knowledge in generative AI. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The logical coherence criterion from Al-Kindi's principle of reason is capable of filtering out indications of AI hallucinations; (2) AI data representation (empirical input) which is prone to bias can be evaluated through Al-Kindi's principle of sense perception; and (3) In the context of digital religious and social authority, Al-Kindi's principle of revelation offers ethical considerations for the application of generative AI, ensuring that knowledge authority in the digital era can be guided by an epistemologically validated philosophical framework.
2026-06-11T07:18:32+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Farhan Firdian, Umi Ni’matin Choiriyahhttps://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/rsy/article/view/5172THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JAMAAH TABLIGH AND URBAN COMMUNITIES2026-06-17T08:54:31+00:00Ahmad Diaz Syahrezyah Makmurahmaddiazmakmur@gmail.comM. This study employs a qualitative method with phenomenological and sociological approaches. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving members of the Jamaah Tabligh and the community of Palopo City. The data were analyzed through the processes of reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The results indicate that the religious transformation of the Jamaah Tabligh is influenced by urban social changes, the progression of globalization, and the strengthening of internal structures through deliberation. This transformation is evident in the increasing internalization of religious values among members from diverse social backgrounds and professions, as well as in the integration of da’wah activities with their social and professional roles. This study also found that the Jamaah Tabligh has been able to maintain its existence by adapting to the dynamics of urban society without abandoning the fundamental principles of its movement. Despite facing criticism regarding the da’wah methods employed, the Jamaah Tabligh continues to play a role in fostering religious morality, strengthening social solidarity, and fulfilling the spiritual needs of the community in Palopo City.
2026-06-16T13:21:19+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Ahmad Diaz Syahrezyah Makmur, M.
