Pengembangan materi pai interdisipliner untuk penguatan kompetensi mahasiswa
Abstract
Rapid developments in the modern era require university students to possess comprehensive competencies, not only in specific fields of knowledge but also in the ability to integrate academic knowledge with religious values. However, Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) in higher education is often delivered separately from other courses, resulting in a limited impact on the development of students’ holistic competencies. Therefore, this study aims to develop interdisciplinary PAI learning materials that strengthen students’ competencies, particularly in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) method with the following stages: needs analysis, planning, draft material development, limited trials, revision, and wider trials. The research subjects were students from the Computer Science and Management study programs at a private higher education institution. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, and competency tests. The results indicate that the developed interdisciplinary PAI materials demonstrate good quality in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The implementation of these materials significantly improved students’ competencies, especially in problem-solving abilities through the integration of religious values and scientific knowledge, as well as in understanding religious values within the context of daily life and future professional careers. In conclusion, interdisciplinary PAI materials have strong potential to serve as an alternative approach to PAI learning in higher education to produce knowledgeable, ethical, and competent graduates.
