Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, this study involved 472 students from several high schools in Wonosobo Regency, Central Java. Data were collected through a questionnaire that measured six main character dimensions: faith and devotion to God Almighty, global diversity, cooperation, independence, critical reasoning, and creativity. The results of the analysis showed that female students had higher character achievements in faith, cooperation, and critical reasoning. At the same time, in the aspects of global diversity and independence, there were no significant differences between genders. In addition, the creative character showed a varied distribution of values without significant differences. These findings emphasize the importance of a more adaptive and gender-based character education strategy to improve students' character achievement evenly.
Wiwin Mistiani Copyright (c) 2025 Musawa: Journal for Gender Studies https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/3819 Tue, 24 Jun 2025 06:30:50 +0000 Identitas dalam Pergolakan: Fenomenologi Hijrah pada Punk Muslimah https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/3966
This research aims to understand the hijrah experience experienced by Muslim punk women through a phenomenological approach. Hijrah, in this context, is not just a physical change or lifestyle, but an existential process in building a new meaning of life and identity. Muslim punks are at the crossroads of two culturally conflicting worlds: a punk subculture steeped in the spirit of resistance, and Islamic values that emphasize spiritual obedience. Through in-depth interviews with several participants, it was found that the process of migration involves identity conflicts, self-reflection, and complex negotiation of meaning. The informants did not necessarily abandon their old identities, but rather reconstructed punk values within the framework of religiosity. Critical spirit, honesty to oneself, and social awareness are maintained, but directed towards deeper spiritual struggles. The main findings show that hijrah is a medium of authenticity transformation, where Muslim punks try to live more honestly to their deepest beliefs. A new identity as a Muslim woman does not erase the past, but becomes a continuation of the process of more complete self-formation. Thus, hijrah is not a form of rejection of an old identity, but the discovery of a new meaning that comes from past experiences and current spiritual beliefs.
Mursyidul Haq Firmansyah, Hairuddin Cikka, Taufik Copyright (c) 2025 Musawa: Journal for Gender Studies https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/3966 Tue, 24 Jun 2025 06:33:57 +0000 Pengaruh Gender Stereotyping Terhadap Kepuasan Hidup Perempuan yang Tidak Berpenghasilan https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/3971
Women are expected to behave according to the gender roles that have been determined by culture. These gender roles give rise to generalizations about the characteristics that women should and should not possess. This, in turn, affects the life satisfaction of women. This study aims to determine the influence of gender stereotyping on the life satisfaction of non-income-earning women. The research method used is quantitative. Data collection was carried out using two scales: the gender stereotyping scale and the life satisfaction scale. The sample in this study consisted of 68 non-income-earning women, aged 18 to 25 years, residing in Makassar City. The results of the hypothesis test using Spearman’s rho indicate an influence of the agency dimension on the life satisfaction of non-income-earning women, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Meanwhile, there was no significant influence of the communality dimension on the life satisfaction of non income-earning women, with a significance value of 0,189 > 0,05. However, many children are still exposed to rigid gender stereotypes from an early age, both through family environments, educational institutions, and learning media. This research aims to identify the main challenges in the application of gender-sensitive approaches in early childhood and formulate solutions that can be applied by parents, teachers, and educational institutions. The approach used is qualitative descriptive based on literature studies by examining various scientific journals, reports of international organizations, and children's education policies. The results of the study show that the main challenges in the implementation of gender sensitivity include a strong patriarchal culture in parenting practices, the lack of training of PAUD teachers related to gender equality, and the use of learning media that is still gender-biased. To overcome this, a strategy is needed that includes training teachers and parents on gender perspectives, revising the PAUD curriculum to be more inclusive, providing teaching materials that reflect the diversity of gender roles, and strengthening partnerships between schools and families. By creating an environment that is free of gender bias, children can grow and develop optimally without the pressure of social norms that limit their self-expression. This article emphasizes the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration to build the foundation of gender equality from an early age.
Nur Eka Wahyuningsih Riyadi, Nirmala Paputungan Copyright (c) 2025 Musawa: Journal for Gender Studies https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/4043 Tue, 24 Jun 2025 08:27:09 +0000 Teknologi Terhadap Perempuan dalam Sektor STEM Analisis Gender https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/4013
Transformasi teknologi yang pesat telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam hal peran dan partisipasi perempuan di masyarakat. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research investigates how women employ empathetic communication strategies rooted in local cultural and spiritual values to facilitate reconciliation processes in post-conflict communities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis involving women mediators, religious and traditional leaders, and conflict-affected community members. The findings reveal three main aspects: first, women play a substantive and proactive role in initiating dialogue and restoring broken social relationships; second, their mediation strategies integrate empathetic communication, religious-spiritual values, and cultural symbols to create a safe space for peacebuilding; third, despite their significant contributions, women often face structural and symbolic barriers that limit formal recognition of their roles. The study concludes that empathetic diplomacy practiced by women offers a contextually relevant and sustainable model for grassroots conflict resolution. This research contributes to the discourse on gender, peace, and communication by highlighting the transformative power of women’s agency and the importance of culturally rooted approaches in conflict mediation.
Muhammad Najmuddin, Siti Rabiatul Adawiyah Copyright (c) 2025 Musawa: Journal for Gender Studies https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/3959 Tue, 24 Jun 2025 08:35:33 +0000 TINJAUAN KONSEP DISIPLIN DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM TERHADAP PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA FAKULTAS AGAMA ISLAM UNISA PALU https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/msw/article/view/4014
Academic procrastination is one of the problems faced by many students, including at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, UNISA Palu.
