Abstract

Child marriage remains a real social problem in Central Sulawesi, reflected in the persistent applications for marriage dispensation at the Palu Religious Court throughout 2023 until 2025 involving children below nineteen years of age. This phenomenon indicates that the presence of Law Number 16 of 2019 has not been fully understood by the community, particularly in Dolo District, Sigi Regency. This community service aims to strengthen public understanding of the minimum marriage age and to build legal awareness that can prevent child marriage. The activity was conducted at the Office of Religious Affairs of Dolo District with thirty participants consisting of religious leaders, village officials, and community representatives. The method applied was Asset Based Community Development, which places local strengths and potentials as the starting point for solving the problem. The result shows an increase in participants understanding of marriage regulation and the emergence of a shared commitment to safeguard the prevention of child marriage through the role of religious institutions. This service concludes that strengthening legal literacy based on community assets is an effective strategy for reducing child marriage at the village level
