Mema'ane Petu
Tradisi, Simbolisme Tanah, dan Ketertiban Sosial di Ambesia
Abstract
Artikel ini mengkaji tradisi Mema’ane Petu di Desa Ambesia sebagai praktik kosmologis masyarakat Tialo yang berfungsi dalam pengelolaan penyakit, relasi manusia–tanah, dan ketertiban sosial. Selama ini Mema’ane Petu kerap dipahami sebagai ritual adat atau pengobatan tradisional semata, tanpa analisis historis terhadap fungsi sosial dan simboliknya. Dengan menggunakan metode sejarah dan pendekatan sejarah-budaya, artikel ini menelusuri asal-usul Mema’ane Petu sejak 1939, struktur simbolik ritual, serta pergeseran makna dan praktiknya dalam lintasan waktu. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Mema’ane Petu bukan sekadar ritual penyembuhan, melainkan mekanisme kosmologis yang mereproduksi ingatan kolektif, otoritas adat, dan keseimbangan relasional antara manusia, tanah, dan kekuatan tak kasatmata. Studi ini berargumen bahwa keberlanjutan Mema’ane Petu mencerminkan daya adaptif tradisi lokal dalam menghadapi perubahan sosial, religius, dan modernisasi kesehatan.
