Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The editorial team receives article submissions with the following requirements:

  1. The article has never been published and are not being submitted to other media.
  2. The article is about the study of the History of Islamic Civilization and Humanities, covering Islamic literature, linguistics, philosophy, philology, archeology, and cultural studies.
  3. Article is typed in Cambria font in 12 size, B5 size paper, one column format, 4 cm left margin, 3 cm right margin, 3 cm upper and lower margin, with line spacing 1.15 (except abstract). Align text using the left and right alignment. The article length is 5000-8000 words, including pictures, graphs, tables, and references.
  4. Title, abstract, and keywords must be written both in Indonesian and English.
  5. Article is written in Indonesian or English.
  6. The systematics for writing articles is arranged in the following order: 
    1. TITLE (bold, maximum 20 words, capital letters, and not abbreviated); The title should describe the main content of the writing clearly, concisely, and comprehensively.
    2. Name and institution of the author (font size 10, bold, not abbreviated, and without including title); Authors' names are written right below the title, accompanied by the telephone number, full address, and email address of the author's institution.
    3. Abstract (font size 11, line spacing 1.0, bold and italic); Abstract is written in Indonesian. Also, include abstract the written in English italic. Written in one paragraph, single-spaced, consisting of 150-250 words, which is the essence of the entire writing which includes background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Under the abstract, 3-5 (three-five) keywords are included.
    4. INTRODUCTION (bold, capital letters); Contains the background of the problem, objectives, and review of previous research (state of the art) to explain the currentness and substance of the research, as well as the significance of the article (if any).
    5. METHODS (bold, capital letters); Describes the survey/observation/experiment conducted including a description of time, duration, and place. Also includes techniques for obtaining data, processing methods, and analytical models used.
    6. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION (bold, capital letters); Presented in subsections.
    7. CONCLUSION (bold, capital letters); Contains a statement of the significance of the entire research, NOT a repetition or summary of the results and discussion.
    8. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (if any; bold, capital letters); Contains the author's expression of gratitude to those who have contributed during the process of writing articles.
    9. REFERENCES (bold, capital letters); Lists information about the referenced libraries in the body of the article. Every reference referenced in the manuscript must appear in the bibliography. The reference format follows the Turabian Style 8th Edition (full-note).
  7. References and citations to sources are written using footnotes and it is recommended to include page numbers.
  8. Articles can be sent to the editor via email to manaqib@uindatokarama.ac.id or can be submitted through Open Journal System (OJS) at https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/manaqib/.
  9. Confirmation of approval or rejection of the publication of the article will be notified by the editor to the author via email.
  10. The language used in writing the references follows the language of the article.
  11. It is highly recommended to use reference manager software such as Zotero or Mendeley and choose the citation format of Turabian Style 8th Edition (full note).
