This study examines the genealogy of radical ideology in the 20th century, focusing on its development, changes in radical thinking, and the factors that influenced its evolution. In a century full of conflict, revolution, and global change, radical ideologies such as communism and fascism played a central role in shaping social and political order. This study explores the genealogy of radical ideology, including its peak period, when communism and fascism emerged as dominant ideologies. We also reveal changes in radical thinking throughout the 20th century, including the adaptation of these ideologies to historical events and social changes. In addition, this study analyzes the social, political, economic, and technological factors that influenced the development of radical thinking. The results of this study have important implications for understanding the history and socio-political dynamics of the 20th century. In addition, this study is relevant to addressing the challenges of radicalism in the contemporary era by providing insights into the development of radical ideology in the future. This study contributes to the study of ideology, history, and global politics. It can serve as an important reference source for researchers, academics, and policymakers interested in understanding radical ideology and its dynamics of development

The role of language editing in students’ language comprehension is becoming increasingly important. Reading and writing are the primary activities in language learning, and with proper language editing, students can enhance their understanding of the language and develop their language skills. This study aims to enhance students’ language comprehension by examining the role and implications of language editing. This study uses qualitative literature research, with data sources such as books and journal articles, employing a documentary approach, and is analyzed using descriptive or analytical techniques. The Reading interest index in Indonesia is very low, at only 0.001%, meaning that only one person out of every thousand residents is considered an avid reader. One way to respond to this data is to improve the Reading infrastructure within the community, such as by ensuring librarians have the explicit knowledge needed regarding library facilities. The purpose of this research is to analyze the issues faced by librarians in increasing reading interest among the people of Majene. This type of research is descriptive. The approach used is qualitative. Data sources consist of primary and secondary data. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documents. Data were analyzed using the principles of Miles and Huberman, which comprise three methods: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research findings indicate that librarians in enhancing people’s reading interest in Majene face several comprehensive problems, including limited facilities and infrastructure, a lack of book collections that meet user needs, low public Reading interest, and insufficient strategies for socializing library services. As a practical implication of this research, the local government needs to place greater emphasis on libraries by allocating a larger budget to procure book collections, improve facilities and infrastructure, and train librarians.

This study aims to examine the forms of practice of the Saiyyang Pattuqduq cultural tradition and to identify the da‘wah values embedded within it among the people of Majene Regency. It’s a cultural heritage of the Mandar community that has been preserved across generations and remains closely connected to Islamic teachings and local religious expressions. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore how the community understands and experiences the religious meanings of this tradition in their social life. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with key informants, and documentation as supporting evidence. The data were analyzed using four phenomenological stages: horizontalization to identify significant statements related to participants’ experiences, textual description to present detailed accounts of these experiences, structural description to examine the contextual conditions in which they occur, and the synthesis of meanings to capture the essence of the phenomenon. The findings reveal that Saiyyang Pattuqduq is practiced in various religious and social events, including messawe totammaq (Qur’an completion ceremonies), weddings, guest welcoming ceremonies, and cultural festivals. The tradition embodies key dawah values moral values are reflected in honesty and cooperation within the community. Sharia values are manifested through adherence to Islamic dress codes. This study highlights the importance of preserving Saiyyang Pattuqduq as a form of cultural da‘wah that strengthens religious awareness, social cohesion, and the cultural identity of the Majene community.

NILAI NILAI PENDIDIKAN ISLAM DALAM TRADISI MAUDU’ LOMPOA DI CIKOANG KABUPATEN TAKALAR

The Maudu’ Lompoa tradition is a Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW celebration that has been practiced for generations by the community of Cikoang Village, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi. This tradition represents an integration of Islamic teachings and local wisdom. Although Maudu’ Lompoa has been debated among some Islamic scholars and is sometimes perceived as a form of bid‘ah, substantively it contains Islamic educational values that remain relevant to the socio-religious life of the community. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Maudu’ Lompoa tradition and to identify the Islamic educational values embedded within it. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Maudu’ Lompoa procession consists of several ritual stages, including purification rites, food preparation, communal prayers, and the distribution of alms. A distinctive feature of this tradition is the preparation of Julung-Julung, decorated wooden boats filled with agricultural products and daily necessities that are shared with the community as a form of charity. The Islamic educational values reflected in the Maudu’ Lompoa tradition include ilahiyah values manifested in the strengthening of faith and love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW, ubudiyah values expressed through purification and almsgiving, muamalah values embodied in mutual cooperation and social solidarity, and aesthetic values reflected in cultural creativity and artistic expression. This study contributes to Islamic education scholarship by demonstrating how local cultural traditions function as effective media for internalizing Islamic values within community life.

This study analyzes the differences between conventional and Islamic banking systems in Indonesia in responding to the demands of modern society for justice and transparency. The results of the study indicate that public interest in Islamic banking has increased significantly, primarily because its profit-sharing system is more transparent and equitable compared to conventional bank interest, which is often complex and opaque. However, the study also reveals unfair practices that still occur in several conventional banks, such as hidden fees, confusing interest calculations, and discriminatory treatment of small customers. Through a quantitative approach using OJK data analysis and customer surveys, this study provides concrete solutions for banks to enhance justice and transparency, including product simplification, technology adoption, and internal policy reform. The research findings emphasize the importance of transforming the conventional banking system by adopting principles of honesty and openness, and the need to strengthen regulations to protect customers. In conclusion, the development of banking in Indonesia must be directed towards creating a more inclusive, fair, and transparent system to meet the needs of a modern society that is increasingly critical and financially literate.

This study examines Nurkholis Madjid’s views on Islamic civilization in Indonesia. Cak Nur is a phenomenal yet controversial thinker whose ideas are enlightening and thought-provoking. The objectives of this paper are, first, to analyze Cak Nur’s intellectual development. Second, to analyze Cak Nur’s Islamic ideas. Third, to understand his ideas in the context of Indonesian Islamic civilization. This research is library research using historical, sociological, anthropological, and theological approaches, as well as content analysis. The results of this research show that, first, Cak Nur’s intellectual development cannot be separated from his experiences and education; his family’s existence greatly influenced the formation of his thinking. Second, in understanding Cak Nur’s Islamic ideas, the researcher used several approaches, including the substance approach, postmodern epistemology, and inductive empiricism. Third, in reconstructing his ideas, the concept of secularization seeks to free society from the purification or sacralization of things that are not in their proper place (desacralization), so that humans can understand and manage worldly life objectively. Secularization encourages society’s progress towards modernization through rationalization, as a tangible manifestation of Islam’s command that humans use reason and science to understand the laws of nature. In addition, Cak Nur seeks to reinforce Islamic values as a universal moral foundation that can contribute to national progress. Education is a means of shaping and creating quality human resources. Thus, Paramadina University has become a scientific laboratory that emphasizes rationality, openness, and ethical values that can shape a civilized generation.

This article examines the relevance of Max Weber’s work ethic in contemporary capitalism, focusing on the transformation of work values in the digital and globalization era. In The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, Weber argues that modern capitalism developed from the internalization of Protestant religious values, which emphasize discipline, rationality, and efficiency in work. This article examines how the work ethic, which initially supported industrial capitalism, has undergone significant transformations amid the gig economy and flexible work arrangements. Using a qualitative, discursive approach, this article also identifies a shift in the work paradigm, from a high-productivity orientation to a search for work-life balance and individual well-being. Furthermore, this article analyzes the phenomena of burnout and capitalist expectations of workers, as well as alternative movements such as slow work and the post-work society, which offer resistance to an increasingly exploitative work system. In conclusion, although Weber predicted that capitalism would lead to an “iron cage” of rationality, the contemporary world shows the potential to build more balanced and humane working relationships by adapting the spirit of capitalism to the social needs and welfare of workers

DAMPAK PENGGUNAAN TIKTOK TERHADAP PERILAKU BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK

This study aims to examine the impact of TikTok usage on students’ learning behavior at MAN 1 Kota Palu. A qualitative approach was employed through interviews, observations, and documentation involving purposively selected teachers and students. The findings show that TikTok has both positive and negative influences. On the positive side, it provides entertainment, motivation, and encourages creativity. On the negative side, excessive use reduces concentration, disturbs study time, and weakens discipline. It is recommended that teachers and parents supervise and guide TikTok usage towards more productive purposes.
