This study develops a conceptual framework on the influence of Work-Life Balance (WLB) and Work Engagement (WE) on employee performance, with an empirical focus on BSI Palu. The literature indicates that WLB helps employees balance work and personal life, positively affecting productivity, whereas WE reflects emotional attachment, dedication, and energy that enhance service quality and performance. The proposed model positions WLB and WE as determinants of employee performance, contributing to the literature by extending the Job Demands–Resources Model to Islamic banking. Practically, this suggests that BSI should implement HR policies that strengthen WLB and WE to improve competitiveness and sustainability. This conceptual framework can serve as a foundation for future studies.
Fauzan Almahdali Copyright (c) 2025 Fauzan Almahdali https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4354 Mon, 20 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Effect of Personal Branding, Service Innovation, and Empathy Maps on the Satisfaction of Digital Loan Customers Mediated by Trust in Pre-Retirement and Retirement Loan Products https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4356
Digital lending services for pre-retirement and retirement loan products are emerging as a crucial support for civil servants approaching pension in Central Sulawesi. This study examines how personal branding, service innovation, and the use of empathy maps influence customer satisfaction in digital lending, with customer trust as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey of 100 respondents in Central Sulawesi (2023–2025) was conducted and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that personal branding, service innovation, and empathy maps each have a positive and significant effect on customer trust and satisfaction. Customer trust also positively affects satisfaction and partially mediates the relationship between those factors and satisfaction. The proposed model explains a substantial portion of variance in trust and satisfaction. These findings highlight the importance of building a strong personal brand, continuously innovating services, and adopting empathetic approaches to improve customer trust and satisfaction in digital loan services for the pre-retirement and retirement segment.
Freddy Herdian Copyright (c) 2025 Freddy Herdian https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4356 Mon, 20 Oct 2025 06:49:32 +0000 Building Digital Transformation: The Role of Digital Leadership and Digital Innovation in the Performance of Employees at The Ministry of Religious Affairs of Central Sulawesi https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4357
Digital transformation is a strategic issue in organizational management, including Indonesia’s public sector. The Ministry of Religious Affairs in Central Sulawesi is adopting digital technologies through programs such as PUSAKA SuperApp and SIMKAH, yet faces barriers such as low digital literacy, limited infrastructure, and employee resistance. This conceptual article examines the role of digital leadership and digital innovation in driving transformation and its impact on employee performance. Using a literature-based conceptual approach that integrates Upper Echelons Theory, organizational transformation, and digital innovation, the study highlights that digital leadership shapes organizational direction and culture, while digital innovation mediates the link between leadership and transformation through practical solutions. Successful digital transformation enhances productivity, efficiency, and service quality. Academically, this study broadens the discourse on bureaucratic digitalization in developing countries, while practically, it offers recommendations for leadership strategies, fostering innovation, and improving civil servants’ digital literacy to achieve effective and responsive governance.
Herna Deswarti Copyright (c) 2025 Herna Deswarti https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4357 Mon, 20 Oct 2025 07:20:39 +0000 Productive Waqf and Efforts to Renew Waqf Law in the Jasser Auda System Approach https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4358
Productive waqf represents a new paradigm of Islamic philanthropy that shifts the focus from passive asset maintenance to active asset development, aiming to maximize the socio-economic benefits of the community. This transformation inherently demands a reform of traditional waqf law, which tends to be conservative. This article analyzes efforts to reform waqf law, particularly regarding the diversification of waqf objects and management flexibility, through the lens of Jasser Auda's Systems Approach . The analysis shows that productive waqf aligns with Auda's Purposefulness feature , which reconstructs the Maqasid of Sharia from protection to development . This approach justifies the expansion of waqf objects (e.g., cash waqf and intellectual property rights) and provides a philosophical foundation for Istibdal (change of function) to realize the welfare of the community in a holistic and sustainable manner. Furthermore, the use of this systems approach is important in managing waqf investment risks, which is a logical consequence of the development -oriented paradigm.
Mohammad Fauzan Copyright (c) 2025 Mohammad Fauzan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4358 Mon, 20 Oct 2025 07:38:15 +0000 Implementation of Sharia Good Governance through Non-Cash Payment Systems https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4359
This study aims to explore the implementation of a cashless payment system at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in the Central Sulawesi region and its relationship to the implementation of Sharia-based good governance. Using a qualitative approach and phenomenological methodology, this study explores the subjective experiences of stakeholders directly involved in the management and implementation of the cashless payment system. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with heads of work units, Commitment Making Officers (PPK), State Treasurers, and Sharia economic experts, as well as field observations to understand the practical implementation of this system. The results indicate that the implementation of a cashless payment system can improve administrative efficiency and transparency in financial management, which aligns with the principles of good governance, such as accountability and transparency. However, this study also identified significant challenges, including limited digital infrastructure and technological literacy in some regions, which hamper wider implementation. Furthermore, although this system supports Sharia values in terms of reducing transactions containing elements of riba (usury) and maysir (gambling), there is still room for improved oversight to ensure transactions are completely free from practices that are inconsistent with Sharia principles. In conclusion, the implementation of a non-cash payment system has great potential to support Sharia-based good governance in the public sector, but requires strengthening infrastructure, training, and stricter supervision to ensure its success.
Ulyani Ulyani, Muh. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to examine the implementation of digital marketing and the factors influencing digital transformation in rural areas. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving MSME actors who actively use social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. The findings indicate that most MSMEs are at the Emerging and Established levels, primarily using social media as a promotional tool. However, their efforts are not yet integrated into a comprehensive digital strategy. Key enabling factors include ease of access, low cost, and community support, while the main barriers are limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and inadequate human resource capacity. These findings underscore the relevance of the DCMM framework for mapping MSMEs’ digital readiness and highlight its applicability in Indonesia's rural economy. The study also emphasizes the importance of social capital, local innovation, and institutional support in accelerating digital maturity. The results are expected to serve as a foundation for policymakers and stakeholders in designing strategies to strengthen digital capacity and infrastructure, thereby promoting an inclusive and sustainable digital economic transformation.
Wianda. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected via in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving incubator managers and MSME participants. The data analysis applied Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, including data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings indicate that the IPO model is implemented systematically and effectively. At the input stage, success factors include competent human resources, supportive local government policies, cross-sector partnerships, and the integration of digital technology. In the process stage, MSME development is driven by empowerment, mentoring, and innovation, with a focus on managerial capacity, legal compliance, product branding, and digital transformation. The output stage shows increased performance, income, product quality, and market access among participants. From the Islamic economic lens, program success transcends financial outcomes, emphasizing values like shiddiq (honesty), ‘adl (justice), and maslahah (benefit). These principles have fostered ethical business practices and social responsibility, promoting a balance between material success and spiritual well-being. The study concludes that the IPO model serves as a practical evaluative tool for incubation programs and can be effectively aligned with Islamic economic principles to foster sustainable, inclusive MSME growth. The method used is qualitative with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving the Village Head, Director of BUMDes, Chair of Pokdarwis, and the local community. The results of the study show that the halal tourism management model in Kaleke Village with a collaborative governance approach is reflected in the synergy of various local actors such as BUMDes, Pokdarwis, village government, religious leaders, and the community. This collaboration forms the basis for a participatory halal tourism management system. However, institutional weaknesses and limited collaborative capacity are still evident, mainly due to the absence of clear halal regulations and guidelines, as well as limited infrastructure and halal services that are not yet certified. As a result, collaborative work patterns remain informal and suboptimal. Therefore, institutional strengthening, halal regulations, certification, human resource capacity building, and government policy support are needed to realize professional and sustainable halal tourism destinations in developing the local economy.
Ahmad Haekal, Jeris Yola Aprilia, Wardatul Ulum, Anggun Calcio, Mohammad Rafiq, Anwar Zainuddin, Muhammad Syarif Nurdin Copyright (c) 2025 Ahmad Haekal, Jeris Yola Aprilia, Wardatul Ulum, Anggun Calcio, Mohammad Rafiq, Anwar Zainuddin, Muhammad Syarif Nurdin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4364 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:22:41 +0000 “Montolutusan-Mondopulian” A Local Cultural Wisdom as a Media to Bond the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia Based on Ethnographic Communication Discourse Analysis. https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4365
This paper examines the development of modern society, influenced by information technology, which presents both challenges and opportunities for the preservation of local culture. Traditional practices considered rooted in Indonesian culture are being shaken by the impact of globalization. The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), comprising diverse ethnicities, cultures, and languages, feels disturbed by modern civilization. Similarly, the diversity of ethnicities, languages, and cultures in Central Sulawesi Province, particularly in its three sister regencies: Banggai Regency, Banggai Kepulauan Regency, and Banggai Laut Regency, is evident. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that all the slogans, mottos, principles of the Banggai people; "Montolutusan" and "Mondopulian" or similar, although they do not have the same essence as a way of life that exists in the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is one of the media of local cultural wisdom that must be maintained, guarded, preserved and socialized as a system against the onslaught of globalization-information and liberalization that can hit and dispel the tranquility, peace and welfare of all Indonesian people as stated in the results of the analysis of table 3, table 4 and table 5.
Rustam Rustam, Rusli Takunas, Hairudin Cikka Copyright (c) 2025 Rustam Rustam, Rusli Takunas, Hairudin Cikka https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4365 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:46:47 +0000 Exploring the Potential of Professional Zakat among Digital Content Workers: A Study on Facebook Pro Creators in Rarampadende Village, Sigi Regency https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4366
This study investigates the potential of professional zakat among digital workers who earn income through Facebook Pro monetization in Rarampadende Village, Dolo Barat District, Sigi Regency. However, throughout its development, science has never been completely detached from the ethical dimensions and values underlying both its processes and outcomes. This article examines the tension between scientific neutrality and the social, political, and economic interests that inevitably accompany scientific activity. On the one hand, neutrality is considered an essential requirement to preserve the validity and universality of scientific knowledge. The principle of neutrality allows knowledge to be justified logically and methodologically, without being bound to the subjectivity of researchers or specific groups. On the other hand, scientific practice cannot be separated from various interests, whether in the form of research funding, policy orientation, or the broader social consequences of its applications. Therefore, ethical dimensions emerge as a balance to ensure that science does not merely become an instrument of power, but continues to serve humanity. This article highlights the importance of integrating scientific objectivity with moral responsibility, so that science does not lose its social significance. An ethical approach to knowledge development includes awareness of the impacts of research, the need for transparency in scientific processes, and the recognition that universal values such as justice, sustainability, and humanity must guide every production of knowledge. Thus, science should not only be understood as the accumulation of data and theories but also as a transformative tool that shapes civilization. In conclusion, the relationship between neutrality and interest should not be viewed as a contradiction, but rather as a dialectic requiring balance. Neutrality safeguards objectivity, while ethical interests ensure that knowledge remains relevant to human life. The integration of both will generate knowledge that is not only methodologically valid but also morally and socially meaningful.
Dirsan I.Totou Copyright (c) 2025 Dirsan I.Totou https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4392 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Trace Of Colonialism In Sharia Banking In Indonesia: Structural Obstacles And Strategies For Decolonializing Management https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4393
Colonialism has left a structural legacy that affects the legal, financial, and management paradigms, which have shaped the foundation of the modern financial sector and economic institutions in Muslim countries. Contemporary Islamic education faces significant challenges in addressing the complexities of modern civilization, marked by technological disruption, value globalization, and crises of spiritual and ethical identity (Halim, 2021, p. 45). In this context, an approach that combines various disciplines is essential to create a more holistic and relevant model of Islamic education (Nasution, 2018, p. 78). Through a qualitative-descriptive literature review, this study examines the theoretical framework and integrative practices from multiple academic perspectives (Yusuf, 2020, p. 134). The findings indicate that the integration of interdisciplinary paradigms can build substantive connections between Islamic values and contemporary scientific developments, while the multidisciplinary approach enriches perspectives in addressing social and scientific issues contextually (Rahman & Fitri, 2022, p. 56). The synergy of these two approaches forms a crucial foundation for the transformation of Islamic education toward a just, inclusive, and sustainable civilization (Kusuma, 2017, p. 89). However, the application of AI also raises ethical and theological challenges that need to be addressed wisely. Therefore, collaboration between religious scholars, academics, and technology developers is crucial to ensure that the use of AI aligns with Islamic values and the principles of maqasid sharia. This study confirms that AI has the potential to become a strategic tool in empowering the community in the digital era.
Muh Farhan Copyright (c) 2025 Muh Farhan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4399 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Islamic Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Between the Ease of Learning and the Challenge of Character Building https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4429
The development of artificial intelligence (AI) in the digital era has had a significant impact on the world of education, including Islamic education. The presence of AI makes it easier for students to access knowledge through digital literature, adaptive learning applications, and interactive platforms that support the learning process more flexibly. AI has been proven to be able to support the cognitive and psychomotor domains, thereby accelerating knowledge transfer and improving learning skills. However, on the other hand, the use of AI faces limitations in the affective realm. AI has not been able to replace the role of educators in shaping the morals, morality, and spirituality of students. In fact, character formation is the core of Islamic education which emphasizes the balance between knowledge and values. Therefore, the existence of teachers remains irreplaceable as an example (uswah hasanah) that ensures that knowledge can be internalized into noble behavior and morals. This article uses the literature review method (library research) by examining the relevant results of previous research. The results of the study show that Islamic education in the era of artificial intelligence needs to utilize AI proportionally: as an innovative means to expand access and effectiveness of learning, while still affirming the role of educators as spiritual and moral guides. Thus, Islamic education is able to face digital transformation without losing its main essence, which is to produce knowledgeable and noble people.
Muh. Aril Widi Saputra Copyright (c) 2025 Muh. The purpose of the research is to analyze how AI influences learning processes, to identify ethical implications arising from its use, and to evaluate how spiritual values can be preserved in digital learning environments. A qualitative approach was employed through library research and content analysis of academic publications, proceedings, and books published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis was carried out comparatively to identify similarities, differences, and unique contributions across various studies, followed by a synthesis to form a comprehensive conceptual framework. The results show that AI contributes positively to automation by streamlining administrative tasks, personalizing learning experiences, and expanding access to education, particularly in Islamic learning contexts. However, ethical challenges such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the risk of dehumanization highlight the need for responsible governance. Furthermore, the spiritual dimension underscores that AI can only serve as a supportive tool and not replace the moral and spiritual authority of teachers or the sacredness of Islamic texts. The study concludes that integrating AI in Islamic education requires a holistic framework that balances efficiency and innovation with ethical responsibility and spiritual integrity. Such integration must be guided by Islamic educational values to ensure that AI enriches, rather than diminishes, the goals of nurturing faith, intellect, and character.
Arianto Arianto Copyright (c) 2025 Arianto Arianto https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4458 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Effectiveness of Using Artificial Intelligence in Islamic Religious Education Learning at SMKN 1 Sigi https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4459
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) represents a major breakthrough in transforming modern education systems. The internet, social media, and various technology-based learning platforms have significantly transformed the ways in which learners acquire information and understand religious concepts. The method used in this study is library research, as the data sources are derived from books and other written documents. For this purpose, the author employed several library references and sought to collect data relevant to the analytical framework by using a descriptive-analytical method. Islamic education in the digital era 4.0 also offers unlimited opportunities to expand accessibility, develop innovative learning methods, and strengthen religious understanding. However, the lack of digital literacy among students poses a major obstacle in filtering valid information and often leads to misinterpretations of Islamic teachings. Furthermore, the digital era presents challenges related to students’ discipline and learning focus. The cultivation of digital literacy understanding through Islamic religious education in the era of cyberculture is essential, as Islamic education not only encompasses the relationship between humans and God but also the relationships among human beings. The implementation of digital literacy in Islamic education can be achieved by instilling an understanding of digital literacy among students, monitoring their use of social media, and providing motivation and encouragement for them to seek information from various credible reference sources.
Sudirman Sudirman Copyright (c) 2025 Sudirman Sudirman https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4450 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 AI as a Partner in Collective Ijtihad: a Model For Empowering Muslim Culturalists and Academics in the Digital Era https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4451
This paper explores the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a partner in collective ijtihad within the context of empowering Muslim scholars, academics, and communities in the digital era. Its application in Islamic law (fiqh) and jurisprudence (ushul al-fiqh) presents both promising opportunities and pressing challenges. This paper explores the potentials and limitations of AI in Islamic jurisprudence, focusing on its role as a supportive tool in legal reasoning and decision-making. Using a normative and literature-based method, the study finds that AI can enhance the accessibility of Islamic legal resources, assist in fatwa issuance through data analysis, and provide comparative insights across classical and contemporary jurisprudence. However, AI also has significant limitations: it lacks moral and spiritual agency, cannot grasp the maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah (higher objectives of Islamic law), and risks misinterpretation if not supervised by qualified scholars. Al-Ghazali emphasizes education as a comprehensive process that not only focuses on the acquisition of knowledge but also on the formation of the soul, the purification of the heart (Tazkiyat al-Nafs), and the cultivation of moral character. According to Al-Ghazali, ideal education aims to develop individuals who demonstrate noble behavior, contribute positively to society, and achieve salvation in the hereafter, with teachers acting as murabbi who instill moral values through exemplary behavior and spiritual guidance. This research employs a library research method, collecting data from literature, books, and recent scientific journals (2019–2025) related to moral education and Al-Ghazali’s thought. The findings indicate that Al-Ghazali’s principles of moral education remain highly relevant in contemporary Islamic education. The implementation of Tazkiyat al-Nafs fosters students’ moral and spiritual awareness, the cultivation of character and the soul balances academic achievement with ethical development, and the role of teachers as murabbi provides concrete moral exemplars. In secondary schools, the use of these stories as a medium of learning not only increases students understanding of the teachings of Islam, but also shapes character and noble character. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness, implementation strategies, and challenges in the use of the story of the Prophet and companions in the learning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in secondary schools. The method used is a literature study based on critical analysis of the latest scientific journals (2020-2024). The results showed that the narrative approach through the story has a positive impact on learning motivation, moral empathy, and internalization of Islamic values. However, challenges such as time constraints, lack of teacher training, and lack of contextual teaching materials still hinder its optimal application. Recommendations include the development of story-based modules relevant to the context of adolescent life as well as pedagogical training for PAI teachers.
Sodikin Sodikin Copyright (c) 2025 Sodikin Sodikin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4493 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Implications of the Philosophy of Science School on the Development of Contemporary Science https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4494
Philosophy of science is one of the branches of philosophy that examines the foundations, principles, and methods in science, and acts as a means of critical reflection on the development of science. This article discusses the influence of four main schools in the philosophy of science, namely positivism, falsificationism, scientific paradigm, and postmodernism and constructivism on the development of contemporary science, especially in the context of education. This study uses a literature study method with a qualitative-analytical approach. The findings show that positivism encourages the birth of quantitative approaches and data-based evaluation systems, falsificationism provides a foundation for the development of inquiry-based learning and critical thinking, the scientific paradigm approach helps to understand changes in curriculum and learning models, while postmodernism and constructivism emphasize the importance of diversity of viewpoints, contextual learning, and recognition of cultural diversity. Therefore, understanding the philosophy of science is an important foundation in designing an education system that is more adaptive, reflective, and contextual to today's challenges.
Rifaldi Saputra Copyright (c) 2025 Rifaldi Saputra https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4494 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Gen Z's Perception of Marriage in the Digital Age: Analysis from the Perspective of Islamic Family Law https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4495
The phenomenon of "Marriage is Scary" that is prevalent among Generation Z shows a paradigm shift towards marriage, from what was originally seen as a sacred ritual to something that causes anxiety. The dominant factors influencing the emergence of this phenomenon include exposure to social media content, personal experiences, parental marital failures, and the influence of patriarchal culture. Generation Z tends to delay marriage and prioritize career, personal happiness, and financial stability. This study uses qualitative methods with literature review and a normative-sociological approach. Data were obtained from the Qur'an, the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), and related academic literature. The results of the study show that although digital content contributes to the emergence of fear of marriage, the role of Islamic family law remains relevant in providing normative solutions. Articles 15–17 of the KHI emphasize the aspects of age, valid marriage requirements, and moral responsibilities based on maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah. However, these regulations are considered limited and need to be strengthened to be more adaptive to the psychosocial challenges of Generation Z. Thus, the renewal of Islamic family law based on maqāṣid and the integration of premarital guidance programs are key to constructively addressing the "Marriage is Scary" phenomenon.
Rina Mega Utari Copyright (c) 2025 Rina Mega Utari https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4495 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Artificial Intelligence in Islamic Education: Building Knowledgeable and Globally Competitive Muslim Generations https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4496
This study aims to analyze the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in strengthening Islamic education in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0. The main focus is on identifying the roles, opportunities, challenges, and implementation strategies of AI to support adaptive, personalized, and relevant learning for the global Muslim generation. The research design employs a qualitative approach using library research. The focus of the study is directed at the interaction between formal legal principles in the Criminal Code (KUHP) and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation and restorative justice. Meanwhile, from an Islamic law perspective, the principle of sulh (peace) is an important basis that allows certain criminal cases to be resolved through deliberation. This study uses a normative qualitative approach by examining legal literature, regulations, and the opinions of classical and contemporary scholars. The results of the study show that the settlement of criminal cases through family channels has limited scope in positive law, namely in minor criminal offences, certain criminal offences with complaint offences, and the implementation of restorative justice in accordance with the regulations of the Supreme Court and the Attorney General's Office. Meanwhile, in Islamic law, broader opportunities are provided as long as they are not related to hudud and qishash, but rather jarimah ta'zir, which is entirely at the discretion of the authorities. This researcher concludes that the synergy between positive law and Islamic law in the application of family-based resolution can strengthen the principle of legal benefit in Indonesia.
Qalbia Qalbia, Rinda Marista, Muhammad Gufran, Muhlis Muhlis Copyright (c) 2025 Qalbia Qalbia, Rinda Marista, Muhammad Gufran, Muhlis Muhlis https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4499 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Issues in the Islamic Education Curriculum in the Modern Era https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4500
The advancement of science and technology in the modern era has significantly impacted various aspects of life, including the educational system. As an integral part of the national education system, Islamic education is required to continuously adapt in order to remain relevant amidst the rapid changes of the times. The curriculum, being the core component of the educational process, must be reviewed and developed to address global challenges while preserving the fundamental values of Islamic teachings. The current era, characterized by technological progress, globalization, and dynamic social change, demands that Islamic education remain both relevant and functional. In this context, the development of the Islamic education curriculum has become a strategic issue—not only in terms of transforming content and teaching methods, but also in integrating Islamic values with 21st-century competencies. Key challenges include the gap between traditional curricula and real-world needs, the lack of pedagogical innovation, and limited resources to support educational modernization. In practice, curriculum development in Islamic education continues to face issues such as the dichotomy between religious and secular sciences, insufficient integration of Islamic values into contextual learning, and a lack of innovation in instructional methods. Moreover, external challenges such as secularization, the dominance of foreign cultural influences, and moral crises among the younger generation pose serious threats that must be addressed through targeted curriculum reforms. Therefore, a holistic, contextual, and responsive approach to curriculum development is essential—one that adapts to contemporary changes without compromising the core principles of Islam. Research and in-depth studies on this issue are crucial in formulating effective strategies for developing a curriculum that is adaptive, morally grounded, and capable of producing a generation of Muslims who are intellectually, spiritually, and socially competent.
Rahmat Hidayat Copyright (c) 2025 Rahmat Hidayat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4500 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Impact of Bullying on Students' Academic Achievement: A Literature Review https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4501
Bullying in educational settings is a phenomenon that is still prevalent and can have a serious impact on the psychological and academic development of students. The comparison focuses on fundamental aspects: the method of seeking truth and the characteristics of the resulting truth. Natural sciences study physical reality and empirical phenomena that are objective and exist independently of the observer. The approach follows the scientific method, which includes structured observation, hypothesis formulation, and controlled experiments. The truth in natural sciences is considered relative, as scientific theories are continuously tested and refined. In contrast, social sciences deal with highly complex and subjective objects of study: human beings and society. Truth in social sciences is often contextual and varied, reflecting the multiple interpretations of social reality. Philosophy views social sciences as aligning with an ontological approach that describes the nature of individual social reality, reinforced by an epistemological foundation that explains the nature of knowledge about reality, from how knowledge is acquired to its validity. Religious studies, on the other hand, have a transcendental object, which goes beyond ordinary physical experience. The method is based on revelation and faith, where truth is considered to come from an absolute divine source. The search for truth is carried out through the interpretation of sacred texts and spiritual experience, not through empirical observation or experimentation. Consequently, the truth in religious studies is seen as dogmatic and absolute, not subject to scientific evidence.
Rezkiyah Amanda Copyright (c) 2025 Rezkiyah Amanda https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4502 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Moral and Ethical Challenges in the Utilization of Artificial Intelligence from the Perspective of Islamic Education https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4503
The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed many aspects of human life, including the educational field. Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah emphasized that a child's physical, psychological, moral, and spiritual development must begin in the womb and continue after birth. This principle encompasses practices such as the call to prayer (adhan), giving a good name, aqiqah (ceremonial offering), role models, dietary patterns, and the instilling of moral behavior. Postnatal education, in particular, plays a strategic role in shaping a child's character, morals, and cognitive intelligence. As technology advances, artificial intelligence (AI) offers opportunities to support these educational principles in a more adaptive and systematic way. AI can be implemented in the form of interactive applications, educational chatbots, personalized learning media, and behavioral analysis systems that monitor children's cognitive, emotional, and moral development in real time. A 2020–2025 literature review indicates that AI can increase learning motivation, emotional engagement, and moral stimulation in early childhood, although ethical, theological, and infrastructure challenges still limit its application. This research uses a qualitative literature study approach with sources from Ibn Qayyim's texts, Islamic literature, and educational AI articles and journals. The analysis was conducted through thematic synthesis and concept mapping. The results confirm that the integration of Ibn Qayyim's classical thought with modern AI-based innovations can form a new conceptual foundation for postnatal Islamic education. This integration not only strengthens cognitive aspects but also provides a personalized, adaptive, and data-driven tool for shaping children's morals and character. Therefore, the use of AI aligned with Islamic values has the potential to enrich child-rearing practices within families and educational institutions.
Allifia Sri Cahyani Copyright (c) 2025 Allifia Sri Cahyani https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4470 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Islamic Education in The Future: Strategies for Facing Challenges and Opportunities https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4471
In the era of digital disruption and globalization, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) faces significant challenges, including shifting social values, moral decline, and the rapid spread of uneducational content. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method, as it allows for an in-depth exploration of learning practices in a real-world context. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation analysis with PAI teachers, students, and the principal, selected using purposive sampling. The results reveal three main themes in the implementation of technology-based PAI learning: (1) the integration of technology in lesson planning and implementation, which strengthens interactivity and understanding of Islamic values; (2) the shift in the role of teachers to facilitators who instill Islamic digital ethics; and (3) challenges in adapting to technology, which are addressed through training and collaboration between teachers. These findings demonstrate that technology functions not only as a learning aid but also as a medium for character development and religious values in the digital era. This research contributes theoretically to strengthening the concept of digital Islamic pedagogy, which emphasizes the integration of spiritual values and technological literacy. The results of this study provide practical implications for elementary Islamic schools to strengthen teachers' digital competencies and develop learning policies oriented towards Islamic values.
MZ Muttaqien H. Islamic education encompasses multiple dimensions spiritual, academic, managerial, and social that are inherently complex and often subjective, making conventional evaluation methods insufficient. The study employs a qualitative library research approach, analyzing peer-reviewed journals, academic books, and institutional quality reports to construct a comprehensive FIS Sugeno model. Key quality indicators, including teacher competence, curriculum relevance, facilities, management, and graduate outcomes, are defined as fuzzy input variables and processed through fuzzification, rule-based inference, and defuzzification to generate objective and consistent quality scores. The conceptual model demonstrates that the Sugeno FIS effectively manages uncertainty and ambiguity in qualitative data, providing a systematic and transparent evaluation framework. The proposed approach not only enhances the accuracy and reliability of quality assessments but also supports educational institutions in formulating adaptive and context-sensitive strategies for continuous improvement. The study contributes both theoretically and practically by integrating artificial intelligence methods into Islamic education management and offering a foundation for further empirical applications across madrasahs, pesantrens, and higher education institutions.
Nadya Humairah Ramadhany Copyright (c) 2025 Nadya Humairah Ramadhany https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4561 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Cultivating Progressive Generation Through The Collaboration Of Educational Knowledge And Islamic Values https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4562
This study aims to examine how the collaboration between educational knowledge and Islamic values can cultivate a progressive generation that is characterized by adaptability, vision, and strong moral foundations. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The participants consisted of the school principal, IRE teachers, and parents of students. The findings reveal several challenges in the implementation of IRE, including limited learning media, variations in students’ intellectual abilities, and a lack of consistent parental support at home. Nevertheless, IRE has shown positive impacts, such as improving students’ understanding of basic Islamic teachings, fostering worship practices like prayer and daily supplications, and developing moral behavior such as respecting teachers and helping peers. These findings suggest that despite its obstacles, IRE contributes significantly to shaping the character and Islamic identity of students with intellectual disabilities in special schools.
Nur Adillah Copyright (c) 2025 Nur Adillah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.uindatokarama.ac.id/index.php/iciis/article/view/4564 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0000
