Literature Study on the Utilization of AI in Islamic Religious Education
Abstract
The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). AI offers the potential to enhance learning by making it more interactive, personalized, and accessible. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of AI in improving the quality of PAI learning through a literature review of relevant studies. The analysis shows that AI can support teachers in presenting materials more creatively and interactively, helping students understand concepts better and enabling self-directed learning outside formal classroom settings. Additionally, AI expands access to educational resources, allowing students to learn at their own pace and improving overall learning outcomes. However, the study also highlights several challenges, including limited teacher proficiency in using AI tools, potential student dependency on technology, and ethical considerations in the context of Islamic education. The effective implementation of AI requires careful integration with teacher guidance to ensure that spiritual and moral values remain central to the learning process.
In conclusion, AI can enhance creativity, motivation, and learning quality in PAI while preserving the integration of knowledge, faith, and ethics. It should be positioned as a supporting tool rather than a replacement for teachers. With appropriate guidance and ethical use, AI has the potential to modernize PAI learning without compromising its core educational objectives
