The Values of Islamic Education in the Implementation of Panggih Temu Manten Customary in Javanese Marriage in Kayu Agung Village, Mepanga District, Parigi Moutong Regency

Abstract

This study relates to the research of "Islamic Education Values in the Implementation of Panggih Temu Manten Customary in Javanese tribal marriages in the village of Kayu Agung, Mepanga District, Parigi Moutong Regency. Culture is a social heritage that can only be possessed by preserving it. The panggih temu manten custom is a customary tradition where the bride and groom meet at the woman's residence. The panggih temu manten custom is carried out after the qabul consent takes place. The panggih temu manten tradition is considered sacred because it is still very much believed by the meeting between the groom and the bride as a symbol that the two of them have been recognized as married according to custom. Based on this, the description of this thesis departs from the problem of how is the process of implementing the panggih temu manten custom in Javanese tribal marriages in the village of Kayu Agung, Mepanga District, Parigi Moutong Regency? What are the values of Islamic education in the panggih temu manten custom in Javanese tribal marriages in Kayu Agung Village, Mepanga District, Parigi Moutong Regency? This study used a descriptive-qualitative method using a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation which were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, trigulation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are that many people in the village of Kayu Agung still carry out panggih temu manten. The results of the research show that there are values of Islamic education. In the panggih temu manten tradition, the things that are done are mapag besan, Balangan Gantal, Ngidag Endog, Liron Kembar Mayang, Sindur blankets, Pangkon balance weighing, Kacar-kucur, Dulangan, and Sungkeman. The values of Islamic education contained in the traditional panggih temu manten procession are moral values, social values and Islamic ukhuwah values. The equipment used in panggih temu manten are Gantal (betel nut), Bokor, Chicken eggs, Irus, Sindur cloth, Jarik, Plantains, Kettles and Broomsticks.
