THE RELATIONSHIP OF SOCIAL MEDIA USE WITH ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF CLASS XI STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 9 MANADO

Abstract

Abstract Currently highly profitable social media and also no profitable for students, many of the students who utilize sites in social media to develop a variety of skills aimed at improving the socio-economic well being and their edication. The use of social media is very influential positive and negative to student acedemic performance. Academic performance in senior high school students could be said good as seen from learning activity in a school that has produced a senior high school students. The purpose of this research is to know the use of social media relationships with academic performance of students of class xi ini senir high school 9 manado. This is a quantitative research study that is analytic survey approach to cross sectional study. The population in this study totaled 621 students and obtained samples of using proportional random sampling with the amount of 155 students. The result of this study showed there was no relationship there is no significant relationship of each variable that is social media use by academic performance based on the results of the analysis of the test chisquare value obtained p= 0,520 atau (p≥ 0,05). There is no relationship between the use of social media with the academic performance of students of class xi in senior high school 9 manado. Advice for students in senior high school 9 manado to keep increasing the accomplishments that have achieved and could be an example to the other students and for parents of students in order to team up with school to provide oversight
