The Influence of Learning Interest and Motivation on the Field of Study of Arabic in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Islam Tawaeli Students

Abstract

Arabic is important because the Qur'an and hadith were revealed in Arabic according to the place where they were sent down. In fact, learning Arabic is influenced by students' interest and learning motivation. The reason the researcher raised this title was because learning Arabic was less attractive to students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of students' interest and motivation on the study of Arabic and simultaneously learning interest and motivation had a significant effect on students' Arabic studies at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Islam Tawaeli.

 

This research uses a quantitative approach because it focuses on knowing the effect of interest and learning motivation on the Arabic language study of MTs Nurul Islam Tawaeli students. There are two data collection techniques used, namely observation and questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is validity test, reliability test and descriptive research data analysis using the interpretation of a number of findings in the field with the help of SPSS 26 as a measurement tool.

 

The results of the research conducted show that interest in learning has no significant effect on students' Arabic language skills as indicated by the t-value of 1.413 < the t-table value of 1.993 with a significance level of 0.162 > 0.05. Meanwhile, learning motivation has a significant positive effect on students' Arabic language skills. This is based on the calculated t value of 6,052 > t table of 1,993 with a significance level of 0,000 <0.05. The estimation results of multiple linear regression analysis show that interest and learning motivation simultaneously influence the Arabic language skills of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Islam Tawaeli students. This is indicated by the calculated F value of 28,742 > the F table value of 3,122 with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05.
